3 Predictions for the Waco Annual Charity Open
The Waco Annual Charity Open presented by Prodigy Disc is going down March 12th - March 14th
This DGPT tournament brings back some unpleasant memories from one year ago. The 2020 Waco event had to be cut short due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the United States. Waco was the last professional disc golf before the Dynamic Discs Open in Emporia, Kansas in late June of 2020. It has come full circle, as the 2021 season is off to a great start with the world slowly heading back to normalcy.

Its been two weekends since the last DGPT tournament went down in Vegas and the top players in the world either took the weekend off or competed at the Memorial Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona. Paul McBeth took first at the Memorial followed by Paul Ulibarri and Anthony Barela
We are excited to be back covering the DGPT and ready to make some bold predictions heading into the weekend. Waco is a great combination of tricky wooded holes with some more open shots ranging over 500 feet. The player to win this tournament will have to have a well rounded game and handle the wind with ease.
Mainstream Disc Golf Prediction
Kevin Jones and Ricky Wysocki will be on the lead card heading into the final round
2021 is the breakout year for star studded finishes. We saw this trend begin in Vegas with McBeth, McMahon, Heimburg and Wysocki on the final lead card. With the competition growing in the sport, it is going to become increasingly harder to finish in the top 5. Both Kevin and Ricky played well below their standards in 2020, Ricky stated on his Instagram that he was playing at 50% while struggling through ailments and Kevin finished in 19th. Both players are due for a good performance. Ricky is consistently in contention and will be looking for a top finish, while Kevin will be playing at this Prodigy sponsored event as Prodigy’s top sponsored player. Kevin ended his 2020 campaign with a big win at the DGPT championship and is a consistent winning threat. Both Kevin and Ricky have the power to throw through the wind and the touch to play in the woods, with the Circle 2 putting ability to cap it off. We look forward to watching these two tear it up this weekend.
Brodie Smith will finish in the top 15
Brodie reached a 1000 rating in his first 12 months playing disc golf competitively. This impressive feat is only the beginning for Brodie as he continues his climb, filming his growth at every turn for his YouTube following. Waco was where Brodie made his DGPT debut in 2020 when he finished two rounds at +2 and in 80th place. We expect Brodie Smith to prove why he isn’t just a YouTube star and finish in the top 15 for the 2021 Waco Annual Charity Open.
Adam Hammes will finish top 5
Adam Hammes finished in 5th place at this event last season. He finished in 14th at Vegas and 6th at the Memorial Championship this past weekend. Hammes is talented in the woods and states on the Discraft website that he enjoys the challenge of the woods and its reliance on hitting lines and gaps. With heavy wind and the potential for rain in Waco this weekend we expect Adam to remain consistent and hit his lines. Expect a fast start and a top 5 finish from Adam Hammes this weekend.
